§ Mr. GummerRefunds totalling £395 million. were paid on exports of agricultural products (including some non-food items such as live animals and feed grains) from the United Kingdom to non-European community countries in 1984–85. The expenditure, which takes account of monetary compensatory' amounts, was fully funded by the EC so that British agricultural exports can compete on world markets.
