§ Mr. MellorThe organised fighting of animals is illegal under the Protection of Animals Act 1911. The investigation of these offences is not the direct responsibility of the Department, but my right hon. Friend is aware of a number recent cases in which successful prosecutions have been brought. We have no present plans for an inquiry, but we are keeping the matter under review.
