§ Mr. Steelasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if, in the light of the Farm Animal Welfare Council's report on ritual slaughter, he will make a statement on his intentions with regard to legislation to implement its recommendations.
§ Mrs. FennerThe Farm Animal Welfare Council published its report in July and we immediately sought comments from interested organisations. This consultation period is not yet concluded. We will wish to consider the report's recommendations carefully in the light of all representations made before taking decisions.
