§ The Earl of SwintonThis department does not hold information which would enable it to ascertain the effect of the Triennial Review on the number of scale posts in primary and secondary schools. It is for local education authorities to calculate the change in point scores in each of their schools arising out of the 1985 Burnham Triennial Review. Where a school falls into a lower points score range, there are various provisions in the Burnham document designed to ensure that staffing changes take place gradually. This is in recognition of the fact that the duties and responsibilities of schools cannot decline at the same rate as their pupil numbers.
