§ Mr. MellorThe number of offences of burglary recorded by the police increased by 348,300 or 63 per cent. between 1979 and 1984. Statistics of offences recorded by the police are published annually in "Criminal Statistics, England and Wales" and details of recorded offences of burglary are given in table 2.10 of the latest issue for 1984 (Cmnd. 9621).
