§ Mr. Wigleyasked the Secretary of State for Wales if he will make it his policy, when arranging meetings, lectures or discussions with farmers at Gwynedd, to ensure that such meetings should be conducted in the Welsh language.
§ Mr. Nicholas EdwardsMy policy is that meetings, lectures or discussions arranged by the Department with farmers or any other group in Gwynedd or in any other part of Wales shall be held in the language most appropriate to the circumstances. Account is taken of the preferences of those attending, and, necessarily, of the competence in Welsh/English of those addressing the meeting.
