§ Mr. Roweasked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) if he will list such information as is available to him as to which institutions in the National Health Service offer courses leading to an honours degree in speech science, speech pathology or speech therapy;
(2) if he will list such information as is available to him, by National Health Service institution, as to the numbers of staff engaged in full or part-time teaching on courses leading to an honours degree in speech science, speech pathology or speech therapy; and if he will give any information he has as to whether their contracts are with the National Health Service or with some other employer.
§ Mr. Whitney[pursuant to his reply, 22 November 1985, c. 339]: There is one National Health Service 610W institution which offers such courses, the National Hospitals' College of Speech Sciences. I understand that there is a total of 21 academic staff employed. I shall let my hon. Friend have a reply to the last part of his question about contracts as soon as possible.
