§ Mr. ButcherRepresentations particularly concerning car imports by the multinational manufacturers located in the United Kingdom have been made by my Department. Ministers and officials have had meetings with the major multinational manufacturers in the United Kingdom.

Mr. Roy Hughesasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will seek a meeting with the multinational motor manufacturers operating in Britain, concerning their large-scale importation of cars into the United Kingdom and the level of British content in the vehicles assembled here.
§ Mr. ChannonMy ministerial colleagues and officials already have regular meetings with senior management of the multinational motor manufacturers operating in the United Kingdom to discuss these matters.
