§ Mr. Dobsonasked the Secretary of State for Scotland (1) if he will give, for each health board in 1984–85, the total expenditure on cleaning, the total expenditure on services provided by private cleaning companies, the latter figure as a percentage of the former, and the difference between that percentage and the percentage in the previous year;
(2) if he will give for each health board in 1984–85 the total expenditure on catering, the total expenditure on services provided by private cleaning companies, the latter figure as a percentage of the former and the difference between that percentage and the percentage in the previous year;
(3) if he will give for each health board in 1984–85 the total expenditure on laundry, the total expenditure on services provided by private laundry companies, the latter figure as a percentage of the former and the difference between that percentage and the percentage on the previous year.
§ Mr. John MacKayHealth board accounts do not distinguish expenditure on services provided by private companies. The following was the total expenditure by health boards on cleaning, catering and laundry services in 1984–85.
