HC Deb 22 November 1985 vol 87 c309W
Dr. Roger Thomas

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) what level of grant is currently being made to the Carmarthen district council in relation to the construction of an emergency control centre;

(2) if his Department will make extra resources available to Carmarthen district council to cover additional costs incurred during construction of the emergency control centre at Carmarthen; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Giles Shaw

An application for civil defence grant aid at the normal rate of 75 per cent. on capital costs of £60,000 for the construction of an emergency centre at Carmarthen has been approved. Payment of grant on additional cost resulting from security measures necessary to ensure that the work can continue is also eligible for grant aid, and consideration is being given to a further application for this purpose.
