§ Mr. Kilroy-Silkasked the Secretary of State for Social Services to what extent the recommendations of the Finer report have been implemented.
§ Mr. Newton[pursuant to the reply, 18 November 1985, c. 89.]: The Finer report contained 230 recommendations. Of the 134 which affected the Department of Health and Social Security, 56 have been implemented and 78 rejected. Those rejected were concerned, in the main, with the introduction of a guaranteed maintenance allowance.
