asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will make a statement about the closure of Ministry of Agriculture research units.

Mr. Jopling

As announced on 11 October 1985, four Agricultural Development and Advisory Service laboratories will close from 1 April 1986 as part of the planned reduction in ADAS expenditure in 1986–87 on research and development. I shall arrange for a copy of the announcement to be printed in theOfficial Report.
