§ Mr. Campbell-Savoursasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (1) if he will list those substances known to occur in pesticide products as contaminants which have, or are believed to have, some form of biological activity, or whose principal metabolites fall into this category; and if he will make a statement;
(2) if he will list, for each chemical approved for use as a pesticide, contaminants arising in the course of manufacture of the biologically-active element which themselves have, or are believed to have, some form of biological activity, or whose principal metabolites fall into this category; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mrs. FennerThe information requested is not readily available and could only be obtained at disproportionate cost. However I can assure the hon. Member that all biological activity of pesticides is evaluated, whether arising from the active ingredient, other components of the formulation or likely contaminants.
