Mr. Loyden

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) if he will make a statement on the future of the Newhall hostel for the mentally handicapped in Liverpool;

(2) what alternative arrangements he has made for the mentally handicapped who will be affected by the closure of the Newhall hostel in Liverpool.

Mr. Whitney

This is a matter which is the responsibility of the local authority.
