§ Mr. Stan Thorneasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what action he proposes in the case of Mrs. Margaret Livesey, in the light of the memorandum submitted to him in July 1985 by the standing committee on miscarriages of justice.
§ Mr. MellorFollowing receipt of the memorandum my right hon. Friend directed that the entire case be reexamined by officials in the light of the issues which it raised. The hon. Member subsequently made further representations and the examination is continuing. We shall write to the hon. Member and to the chairman of the standing committee of 'Justice' as soon as we can.
