§ Mr. NewtonThe Department maintains a close watch on developments in this field, and is ready to give support and encouragement when appropriate. We also liaise closely with the Department of Trade and Industry, which has provided a number of computer projects for blind and visually handicapped people as part of the information technology awareness programme, and with the Manpoer Services Commission, which is able to provide a wide range of technological aids through the aids to employment scheme.
