§ Mr. Dubsasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will list all places in the United Kingdom where foreigners may lawfully enter by land, sea or air and indicate the number of immigration officers at each of them.
§ Mr. WaddingtonAll persons subject to control under the Immigration Act 1971 who arrive in the United Kingdom as passengers from outside the common travel area require leave to enter from an immigration officer regardless of the place of arrival. Those who arrive as240W members of the crew of a ship or aircraft may enter without that leave unless required by an immigration officer to submit to examination.
The table shows the number of immigration officers in post at ports on 31 October 1985. At other small ports officers of Customs and Excise are sometimes employed as immigration officers.
