§ Mr. Chris PattenThe Department's proposals for the special programme of in-service support for the GCSE require that all teachers should have attended preparatory briefing seminars preferably by the end of the summer term 1986 but by the end of December 1986 at the latest. Preparations for these seminars are proceeding accordingly. Local education authorities will be helped in their plans by the revised arrangements which my right hon. 269W Friend set out in an answer to my hon. Friend the Member for Bedfordshire, South-West (Mr. Madel) on 12 November 1985 at column 108.
