§ Mr. Alan ClarkOn 31 October 1985 there were 93 employees employed in the regional fraud teams. These teams are to be increased and by the 30 November 1985 it is expected that there will be 113.
The total gross cost of running these teams, including the expected increase in staff, is likely to be £1.7 million in the current financial year. The net cost is nil, with a minimum calculated saving to the Exchequer of £5.9 million.
