§ Mr. NewtonA wide range of pressure-relieving cushions is available for paraplegics and others. Such cushions may be required for treatment or comfort, and may be supplied either by health authorities or local authority social services departments. In addition the Department supplies a range of such cushions for use in wheelchairs issued through artificial limb and appliance centres. This range includes cushions filled with polyurethane or latex foam, gel air or combinations of these, covered in vinyl, sheepskin or other materials.
