HC Deb 12 November 1985 vol 86 c109W
Mr. Freud

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science (1) what study of the technological side benefits from particle physics his Department is planning before a decision is made on the recommendation of the Kendrew committee; and whether he will make a statement;

(2) what study has been made by his Department of the technological spin-offs from particle physics research and development; and whether he will make a statement.

Mr. Brooke

Comments on the value of technological spin-off and other side benefits from particle physics research and development were made in the report of the Kendrew review group. My right hon. Friend intends to take full account of those, and similar subsequent, assessments before any decision is made, but he is not planning any further study of those aspects.
