I have decided that the National Union of Teachers should be represented by 13 instead of 16 members and that the National Association of Teachers in Further and Higher Education should cease to be represented on the committee. The new composition of the committee will be as follows:

In order to comply with the requirements of the Remuneration of Teachers Act 1965, two variations to the determination of 19 January 1981 have been prepared to give effect to the changes. The variation determination to give effect to the change in NUT representation was made on 1 November and came into operation on 5 November. A copy has been placed in the Library. The variation order to give effect to the proposal to remove the National Association of Teachers in Further and Higher Education from the committee was made by statutory instrument on 1 November, will be laid before Parliament on 11 November to come into operation on 2 December.
