§ Mr. Ron Daviesasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what plans the Forestry Commission has to investigate the effect of acid rain on beech trees in the United Kingdom.
§ Mr. John MacKayThe results of the Forestry Commission's 1984 survey of conifers found no damage similar to that seen in West Germany. In instances of forest decline in other countries, conifers have always shown symptoms before broadleaves, and the commission's 1985 survey will therefore again be restricted to spruce and pine.
