asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what were the 10 largest categories of employment in the area currently covered by Greenock and Port Glasgow constituency in 1971, 1975 and 1982 and in the latest available year; how many were employed in each category; and what percentage of the total work force these represent.

Estimates of the number of employees in the 10 largest industrial orders (as defined on the 1968 standard industrial classification) and of percentages they represent of the total number of employees in employment in the Greenock and Port Glasgow employment office areas are set out in the table. The estimates for 1981 are the latest available. (Estimates for Greenock and Port Glasgow constituency are not available.)

for Stirling; what is his Department's estimate of the value of the site for (a) agricultural use, (b) housing development and (c) light industrial development; and when he expects the Killearn hospital site to be offered for sale.

The site has been placed on the market today and it would not therefore be appropriate to publish valuations. I shall send my hon. Friend a copy of the sale particulars.

The cost of security incurred by Greater Glasgow health board since my hon. Friend's letter of 20 September 1983 is approximately £40,000.
