§ Mr. Ron Daviesasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will provide a complete list of United Kingdom and European Community agricultural produce in public intervention and assisted private storage in England and their value at the latest available date.
§ Mr. Jopling[pursuant to his reply, 7 May 1985, c. 322]: Intervention stocks in England on 31 March, the latest date for which figures are available, were as follows, values calculated at the buying-in price current at that date:
Commodity Tonnes £ million Beef 32,824 79.75 Breadmaking wheat 81,072 10.71 Barley 626,001 77.74 Feedwheat 2,873,191 356.79 Butter 100,746 194.40 Skimmed Milk Powder 29,941 30.73 At the end of March, there was no butter or pigmeat in assisted private storage in England. The quantity of beef is not recorded and calculation would involve disproportionate cost.
