§ Mr. Thurnhamasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he is satisfied with arrangements for access for guide dogs to public buildings for which he has responsibility.
§ Sir George YoungThe Property Services Agency, which forms part of my Department, has overall responsibility for the provision and maintenance of most government buildings. Its policy is to ensure that all new buildings commissioned by the agency have satisfactory access facilities for disabled people, including blind people with guide dogs, and that existing buildings are adapted to meet their needs wherever this is practicable and funds permit.
