HC Deb 20 May 1985 vol 79 cc348-9W
Mr. Austin Mitchell

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether the Government have secured the agreement of other member states that decisions on common agricultural policy prices will only be taken by unanimity; and if the Government intend to propose that the reduction in cereal prices should be decided by a majority vote.

Mr. Jopling

No special arrangements have been agreed to taking decisions on agricultural prices. It is to the presidency to decide whether to seek a qualified majority vote for proposals from the Commission.
