§ Mr. MacGregorIn March 1985, 48,848 milk producers were registered with the milk marketing boards in the United Kingdom. In March 1979 there were 60,808 registered milk producers. No estimates have been made of the number of milk producers in three years' time but it seems likely that the number will continue to decline in line with the long term trends towards greater productivity and efficiency in milk production.
