§ Mr. BrookeThe assumptions made in determining level of allocations to the universities via the University 103W Grants Committee are consistent with the Government's assumption for pay increases for all the groups for which it is responsible. No special account has been taken in recent years of either the current level of university salaries or the trend in university salaries relative to the general trend, apart from some additional allowances for increases in clinical academic salaries.
