HL Deb 14 May 1985 vol 463 c1146WA
Lord Hylton

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they intend to prepare statements similar to the Belfast Integrated Operations Document for other areas in Northern Ireland, for example those areas already considered in various cross-border studies, or infrastructure matters affecting Northern Ireland and the Irish Republic.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Northern Ireland Office (Lord Lyell)

The Government do not consider that further integrated operations documents would be appropriate in Northern Ireland. The Government have, however, agreed with the European Commission to undertake a comprehensive study of the Northern Ireland economy, and the Government and the Government of the Irish Republic have proposed a study on employment opportunities in the North-West.
