§ Lord James Douglas-Hamiltonasked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he will be prepared to support in principle the proposed Law Reform (Parent and Child) (Scotland) Bill.
§ Mr. Ancram[pursuant to his reply, 13 May 1985, c. 551]: While I am sympathetic to the principle of such a Bill, I have not yet completed consideration of the Scottish Law Commission's report on illegitimacy or of the comments received on its proposals for the custody of illegitimate children. Accordingly I am not yet able to decide what form such legislation might most suitably take.
