§ Mr. Dalyellasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what assistance he is giving to United Kingdom companies bidding for contracts for the Lo Aquerre reactor in Chile.
§ Mr. ChannonAssistance from my Department is available in the normal way in support of any British bids to refurbish the Lo Aquerre research reactor. Any transfer of nuclear materials to Chile would have to comply with the Government's general policy on the export of nuclear material as set out by my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister in her reply to the hon. Member for Carrick, Cumnock and Doon Valley (Mr. Foulkes) on 28 January at columns24–5.
