§ Mr. Batisteasked the Secretary of State for Employment whether he will amend the Trade Union Act 1984 so as to make all members of the principal executive committees of trade unions subject to the periodic balloting provisions of part I of the Act.
§ Mr. Peter BottomleyThe provisions of the Trade Union Act 1984 concerning union elections come into force on 1 October. It would be premature to consider further amending legislation which has not yet taken effect.
