§ Mr. Foulkesasked the Secretary of State for Defence what steps he has taken toward pest control on the Falkland Islands; and whether any private contractors have been used for this purpose.
§ Mr. StanleyA military environmental health officer has been appointed to the staff of the Commander British Forces Falkland Islands. In addition to being responsible for pest control at all military establishments, he also advises the Falkland Island Government on pest control. I understand that the airport contractors at Mount Pleasant are taking normal pest control precautions and are employing a pest control officer.
§ Mr. Foulkesasked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will list the occasions on which military personnel from other countries have visited the Falklands since 1983, stating in each case their country of origin and the purpose of the visit.
