Mr. Batiste

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many (a) prosecutions and (b) convictions there have been in Leeds in each of the last three years for drugs offences (i) involving cannabis and (ii) involving other drugs.

The available information for the years 1981 to 1983 is given in the following table; corresponding information for 1984 is not yet available.

Persons (1) proceeded against and sentenced at Leeds magistrates' court or at the Crown court after committal at Leeds magistrates' court for drugs offences by type of drug involved.
