HL Deb 07 May 1985 vol 463 cc648-50WA
Lord Hylton

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What conclusions they draw from the proceedings of the Northern Ireland Assembly Devolution Report Committee, and in particular from its two reports published in October 1984 and February 1985.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Northern Ireland Office (Lord Lyell)

The Government welcome the committee's recognition in both its interim reports that any proposals for devolved government should be likely to command widespread acceptance thoughout the community. The Government look forward to receiving the committee's final recommendations in due course, and hope that they will meet this criterion.
