HC Deb 02 May 1985 vol 78 c190W
Mr. Dickens

asked the Prime Minister if she is satisfied with the efficacy of the current vetting procedures for members of the security services, with particular regard to their sexual proclivities.

The Prime Minister

Following the recommendations in the report of the Security Commission on the case of Geoffrey Arthur Prime, positive vetting standards and procedures within the intelligence and security agencies are being strengthened to make them as effective as possible within the limits of what is acceptable in a free and democratic society.
