§ Mr. WaldegraveI have now received the report of the joint review committee on the control of Pollution (Special Waste) Regulations 1980. The committee has produced a very thorough report which will be of great assistance to the Government in considering future policy for the disposal of hazardous waste. Before considering what action may be necessary I intend to study the report188W carefully and seek the views of others interested in this area, particularly on those issues where alternative options are put forward in addition to agreed recommendations.
The report is being published today and I am pleased to say that it is printed on recycled paper. A copy has been placed in the Library. I would like to take the opportunity to thank members of the committee for the time and effort it has given to its production.
