§ Mr. Foulkes(Carrick) asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will list in the Official Report the details of each directive relevant to his Department from the EEC since 1979; and what action he has taken in each case.
§ Mr. ChannonA large number of EEC Directives relevant to my Department are agreed each year, covering a wide and varied field. To provide the details requested would involve disproportionate cost. A report of technical harmonisation directives proposed, approved of or adopted under article 100 of the treaty of Rome is, however, published from time to time inBritish Business magazine, published by my Department, most recently on 16 March 1984 (amended on 29 June 1984). A report on the Community's company law harmonisation programme is also published bi-annually by this Department, most recently in January 1985. Both these reports provide appropriate references to the Official Journal of the European Communities. They are both available from the Library.
