HC Deb 01 May 1985 vol 78 c137W
Mr. Alfred Morris

asked the Secretary of State for Transport if he will take steps to ensure that the application by Singapore Airlines to begin flights into Manchester from July will be handled as expeditiously as possible by his Department; and when he expects to announce a decision on the application.

Mr. Ridley

As required under Article 12 of the "UK/Singapore Air Services Agreement" (Cmnd. 4619) the application by Singapore Airlines for services to Manchester is the subject of consultations between the two aeronautical authorities. The request from the Singapore Government for consultations was received on March 18 1985 and was acted upon immediately. An announcement will be made as soon as these consultations are complete.
