HC Deb 01 May 1985 vol 78 cc137-8W
Mr. Alfred Morris

asked the Prime Minister what recent representations she has received from the honorary president and secretary of British War Widows and Associates; what reply she is sending; and if she will publish the correspondence in the Official Report.

The Prime Minister

I have received one letter from the honorary president and secretary of British War Widows and Associates, Mrs. Iris Strange, dated 16 April. My office has sent a reply to Mrs. Strange. The reply reflects the Government's good record over the years, highlighting the significant improvements to war widows age allowances from last November. There are approximately 67,000 war widows of whom 53,000 have benefited from this improvement. It is not my practice to publish correspondence sent to me by members of the public.
