§ Mr. Cohenasked the Prime Minister how much money Her Majesty's Government have allocated and what activities are planned in respect of International Youth Year; and how much of this applies specifically to (i) unemployed and (ii) ethnic minority youth; and if she will make a statement.
§ The Prime MinisterTotal grant aid to the national coordinating committees in the United Kingdom is expected to be some £300,000. Many activities in Government programmes have relevance to the objectives of the year, including existing grants in connection with youth participation, support of a visit of 250 young people from 22 European countries, programmes in respect of the young unemployed and those from ethnic minorities. The youth training scheme also has particular relevance.
