HC Deb 27 March 1985 vol 76 cc225-6W
Mr. Gordon Brown

asked the Secretary of State for Employment how he calculates his figure of £146 million to be incurred by the Department of Employment as a result of changes announced in the Budget; and if he will list the specific programmes which are to benefit.

Mr. Peter Morrison

[pursuant to his reply, 26 March 1985]: No figure of £146 million has been quoted in connection with these changes.

However, £140 million is being provided based on the estimated cost in 1985–86 of the expansion by 100,000 places of the community programme.
