§ Mr. Soamesasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if any further progress has been made about the suggestion of an annual cash prize within the National Health Service for the best ideas brought forward by employees for increasing efficiency in all areas of the service.

Friend that our Department, jointly with theHealth and Social Services Journal, has arranged a national scheme under which prize money of £2,000 per annum will be offered for the best staff suggestions by NHS employees. Full details of the scheme is contained in this week's issue of the HSSJ. I will arrange for copies to be made available in the Library.
