§ Mr. Forthasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what estimate he has made of the effect upon the costs of all institutions of the European Economic Community of the possible entry of Spain and Portugal to the Community.
§ Mr. Ian StewartThe Commission has estimated that the total net cost of enlargement might eventually amount to some 0.1 to 0.2 percentage points of the VAT own resources base. Her Majesty's Government see no reason to dissent from this.
