asked Her Majesty's Government:

When the so-called "basket of currencies" Sterling Exchange Rate Index last stood at 100, what were the index figures for each constituent currency at that date and again at the most recently available date; and what was the dollar exchange rate of each of those currencies on both dates.

Sterling's Exchange Rate Index last stood at 100 on 2nd April 1981. The other data requested are as follows:
