§ Miss Boothroyd
asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what have been the levels of both direct and indirect spending on (a) public sector schools and (b) assisted and independent schools by (i) central Government and (ii) local education authorities for each of the last five years for which records are available.

§ Mr. Dunn
The information requested is given in the following table:
(ii) Cambridge, (iii) all other universities, (iv) polytechnics and (v) all other higher and further education establishments for each of the last 10 years for which records are available.
