HC Deb 25 March 1985 vol 76 cc84-5W
Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland on how many occasions during the last 20 years a revaluation has taken place; and on how many occasions the results of a revaluation have been implemented.

Mr. Ancram

In relation to all the revaluations in Scotland in the last 20 years—in 1966, 1971, 1978 and 1985 — the results have been implemented. The revaluations of 1978 and 1985 would each have been two years earlier if special steps had not been taken to postpone them.
