HC Deb 25 March 1985 vol 76 c19W
Mr. Soley

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what was the cost to the taxpayer of flying Lynn Barlow and a police officer to Glasgow after her arrest on the support the miners' march in London on 25 February.

Mr. Ancram

I have been asked to reply.

Lynn Barlow was arrested in London after failing to appear at Dumbarton sheriff court on 4 December 1984. I understand from the chief constable of Strathclyde police that the travel costs associated with returning her to Scotland to answer the charges against her totalled £180.
