Mr. Teddy Taylor

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what was the total volume of European Economic Community exports of food and wine, by category, to the Soviet Union and to Eastern Europe, respectively, in the most recent annual period for which figures are available; and what were the comparable figures in each of the previous 10 years.

The following tables provide the information requested for the years 1976 to 1983 together with the latest available figures for 1984. Information is not readily available on a consistent basis for years prior to 1976 or for annual periods other than calendar years.

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will publish a table showing the amount of food and wine exported by the European Economic Community to the Soviet Union in the most recent six-month period for which figures are available and the average unit value of these sales, expressed in pound sterling per ton, on the same basis as his reply to the hon. Member for Cardiff, West (Mr. Terlezki) on 2 February 1984, Official Report, column 319.
